现在,“浪漫”、“浪漫派”、“浪漫主义”这样一些名词早已被用得几近 泛滥,面对种种混乱而含糊的用法,没有人能做出明确的界定。“浪漫”有 时指一种创作方法,写作的一种幻想方式,贯穿于整个文学史,如弗施 雷格尔就认为一切富有创造性的作品都有某种程度的浪漫性,因而浪漫一 词既可适用于但丁、塞方提斯,也可以用于莎士比亚:有时人们又把它与“古典”相对立,特指历史上的某一个时期,某一个运动,如索尔倍定义““浪漫的”这个形容词一般适用于1770年至1803年间,在欧洲出现的各 种艺术品类型、作品和某些富于哲理性的著作,偶尔也用来指风度和服饰。
