华中科技大学博士学位论文探讨走向社会中心的大学使命对教育改革的重新定向,是本研究的实践目的。这种实践探讨的前提是认为目前许多大学所进行的教育改革并没有超出工业经济时代的办学理念,尽管提出了许多改革举措,但基本上是在“服务工具”观主导下量的强化。为了应对知识经济时代大学所面临的机遇与挑战,本文认为必须实现办学理念上质的更新,改变亦步亦趋地跟在社会后面办学的状况,以走向社会中心的大学使命为指导思想,走在社会的前面,发挥知识的支配作用,实现对社会发展的主导。
