丁往道(DingWangdao):安徽省无为县人,1924年 生。1946年毕业于四川大学外 语系。1950年起在北京外国语 学院英语系任教,历任助教、讲师、副教授、教授。曾担任 中国英语教学研究会秘书长,在美国西华盛顿大学和俄国莫 斯科外语大学任客座教授各 年。1991年离休。独立或参与 编写的主要著作有:《当代英文散文选读》 《英语文体学引论》 《英语写作手册》 《英语写作基础教程》 《英诗入门》 《中国神话及志怪小说一百篇》 《孔子新评》 《孔子语录一百则》等。
